Sundarbans
Explore the world's largest mangrove forest, home to the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger and extraordinary wildlife.
The Sundarbans National Park is the largest mangrove forest in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located in the vast delta formed by the Ganges River, Brahmaputra River, and Meghna River. Renowned as the kingdom of the elusive Bengal tiger, it is the only mangrove forest on Earth where tigers have adapted to a semi-aquatic lifestyle and are known to swim between islands.
The park also supports saltwater crocodiles, fishing cats, spotted deer, water monitor lizards, Gangetic and Irrawaddy dolphins, and more than 300 species of birds. Its intricate network of tidal rivers, mudflats, and dense mangrove forests creates one of the planet’s most unique and productive ecosystems.
A journey through the Sundarbans offers a rare glimpse into a landscape where land and water merge, and every turn holds the possibility of an extraordinary wildlife encounter.
